Last night I had a dream that a giant creamtopus wreaked havoc on the beach and there was naught we could do but lure it into the ocean with a giant scoop of mango sherbet. Thankfully, this was not the case in our true reality; the beach was just fine, and the creamtopi did all their tasks as usual.
Oh bao… is it bad that I'm starting to think of these little ones as employees? Do I need to think about paying them wages? Uhh… at least for now, they seem to be satiated with summer spring rolls.
The weather has cooled down ever so slightly, so more baos have been coming out to the beach to see the creamtopus and catalog their migratory patterns. Their goals seem to be similar to mine, in a sense? I may be too nervous to directly converse with these other beachgoers, but I can make small talk if they decide to come buy creamtopus treats from my cafe.
My odd mark creamtopus friend stopped by today, but not the chipped cone one… though my creamtopus companion only stayed for a moment to grab an ice pop before retreating. Maybe that was a to-go order?
Eureka! The new menu item I've been wanting to add to the menu is finally finished. It may be a bit too late in the season to implement it now, but… why not? The creamtopi that stop by absolutely love this creamtopus-shaped sundae, and the visiting baos do too.
I will admit, it is a bit… odd to see a creamtopus devour a sundae like this. Maybe… maybe I should make some adjustments…
Addendum to my previous entry: the sundae now looks significantly less like a creamtopus, therefore it is not as jarring to serve to the frequenting creamtopi on the beach. I think they look grateful not to be eating something that looks exactly like them… phew.
In brighter news, it's already been a couple weeks since I've started this daily catalog… overall, the visiting creamtopi—including my uniquely marked creamtopus friends—have all become quite friendly over the course of these logs. It will be quite sad to see them go when they have to leave…
It seems that the creamtopi that frequent my cafe have gotten used to the lost and found system I set up previously… I just so happened to peer out from behind the counter and saw a creamtopus leading a lost tourist-y bao to the pile before plucking out a bag to return to them. Ahh… it warms my stuffing to see these creatures be good samaritans.
Additional detail of note: my odd-mark creamtopus friend showed up again today, and I've learned that he enjoys cream soda. I'll plan to see if they sell other flavors at a later date.
