There’s something in the air: it’s the start of a new year, of new relationships, and of a new joint business venture?! This month, Theobear Pawddington and Brezel Baker have joined paws to open up a new collab cafe in New Bao City—there’s just one problem… they have no funds!
“Well, it won’t be cheap…” Theobear says, rather morosely. “We’ll need a lotta capital to start, and a lotta money just ain’t somethin’ I really got on paw… what with the e-co-no-my.”
“Buha!” Brezel exclaims with an obnoxious grin. “You’re thinking to small, Teddy. Beans aren’t hard to get by, if you think smart like me.” She taps the side of her head to illustrate her point. “The whole city will be celebrating Baonding Bites soon—there must be a way for us to take advantage of the season…”
“Shucks, you don’t gotta say it like that, Bee! Y’know I have a real a-ppre-ci-a-tion for the season.” He shakes his head, but he does take Brezel’s suggestion seriously. After a moment he scratches the back of his head and says, rather tentatively, “but I s’pose you’re right. Well, what about we hosted a bake sale? Do a fundraiser that way?”
“A bake sale?! Now you’re speaking my language!” Brezel slaps her business partner on the back, excitedly. “It’s perfect! A chance to raise funds and get everybao hooked on our product? Sign me up!”
“Yeah?” He looks at her with a mixture of hope and trepidation. Then, his head tilts to the side, and his brows furrow together. “But we’re just two bears. How d’ya s’pose we can get folks knowin’ ‘bout us?”
At that, Brezel smirks. “My good friend, you can leave that up to me…”
Featuring Brezel’s mouth watering desserts and Theobear’s delectable drinks, this dynamic duo is hosting New Bao City’s biggest bake sale to date: from February - March 10, you can participate in the ‘Trendy Treats’ special promotion event. Get ‘likes’ in the form of 'PawPads’ and trade them in for prizes!
[1] HOW TO PLAY
Brezel, business minded as she is, has concocted a plan... using popular social media app, PawPad, she plans to go viral! Leading up to their cafe opening, she and Theobear will be having a super-duper-special Bake Sale promotion: ‘trendy treats’!
How it works:
- Complete prompts and earn 'PawPads'
- Collab with another user
- Make a fake "influencer post"
- Design a treat competition
- Have fun at the bake sale
- Trade PawPads for prizes (see below)
- "Donate" to the community pool
How do I trade in my “PawPads”? What do I get from it?
- 3 PawPads can be traded-in to create one [1] Treat Box
- Open the Treat Box using ‘open box’ in your inventory to gain a random event treat, or a low chance of a previously available treat.
- 2 Treat Boxes can be traded-in to create one [1] Treat Coupon
- Open the Treat Coupon using ‘open box’ in your inventory to make a donation to the community pool (prize list below).
- Alternatively, you can use it in the event shop to purchase any [1] Treat of your choice
- 1 PawPad can be sold for [2] beans
[2] Rewards & Community Pool
The main 'prize' for this event are 'treats'. These are collectable items. You can also open your 'treats' to gain a title, which can be attached to your baobear. Additionally, there are also 'community pool prizes'.
What are the community pool prizes?
- Help expand Theobear & Brezel’s Menu! While their current selection is limited, the more support they get during their promotional period, the more items will become permanently available in their shop once the event is over. You may do so by donating Treat Coupons (see above).
- All users who have donated a treat coupon (i.e. on the community pool list) will be listed on the community pool raffle list. The prize list is as follows:
- 1 MYO baoberry: 1 person will get this
- 1 Treat Coupon: 10 people will get this
- 1 Treat Box: everyone will get this
- All items, pets, and titles unlocked through the community goals will be available at Theobear & Brezel’s Shop after the event ends.
- All users who have donated a treat coupon (i.e. on the community pool list) will be listed on the community pool raffle list. The prize list is as follows:

- Drinks Menu Expanded - 25 community pool entries
- Sweets Menu Expanded - 50 community pool entries
- Savoury Menu Expanded - 75 community pool entries

[3] Design a Treat
This event, you can design a ‘treat’ to be made into an on-site item! You may include a name and a short description of the treat. This may be a food, drink, or even a ‘joke’ item (ex. edible rock)
- Entries should be coloured.
- Maximum of 3 entries per person. If making a ‘set’, you can submit a maximum 8 ‘variations’ each.
- For example: strawberry, blueberry, lemon pie counts as 1 entry, not 3, if they are variations done on the same base.
- Variations are optional.
- All submissions must 100% be your own art and design, and must not be derived from any existing copyrighted materials.
- Submissions based on baobears can only be ‘inspired by’ and not fully derivative
- For example: Brezel’s treat can be ‘Butter Pretzel’, but shouldn’t be ‘Brezel’s Pretzel’.
- If you win the competition, you are agreeing to give us (baobears site and staff members) the full rights to use your design, including commercial rights, and including but not limited to the following:
- The rights to redraw, reproduce, host, and modify the design and the name of the design in perpetuity, on our sites and affiliated social media, such as discord or instagram.
- Commercial rights, including rights to feature the design in merchandise (ex. stickers, zines, etc.), advertisements, and collabs.
- The design will be made available to all members as an item. Members are allowed to feature this design in fanart and commissioned drawings.
