TREASURE ISLAND: PROMPTS
PROLOGUE: THE ISLAND
Early one morning, you find a lone Bearmuda staring out into the distance. The waters are calm, the weather is temperate, but a dense fog has has blanketed the horizon, blocking out the sun and whatever warmth it would have provided.
"..."
She doesn't say anything, but somehow you understand her completely. You put a paw to your forehead and squint into the distance, trying to see what she is looking at past the fog. After a while, you begin to make out the vague shape of what must be the island, except one minute it's there and the next it's gone!
"..."
Hm? What's that? A map was posted on the bulletin board recently? A map with a giant red X on it?! There's no doubt about it: that's a treasure map! If there is something hidden, then there is something to be found, and you can't say you aren't curious! Still, the island looks rather far away, so you'll need to procure a sea-faring vessel somehow... huh?
"..."
Bearmuda will lend you a ship?!
"..."
But you'll need to take safety lessons first?! Aw, bear...
PART ONE: SAFETY FIRST!
Baobears have naturally big heads, for they are full of food. This, of course, means that they sink easily... as such, all baobears are encouraged to attend safety lessons prior to heading out in search of this mysterious 'treasure island'!
Prompt: Collaborate with another user to draw or write about two [2] baobears practicing or putting safety lessons into practice, ex. giving chest compressions, recognizing hazards or dangers, putting on sunscreen, saving a baobear going overboard, etc.
- Art: at least two full body with flat colours and background
- Writing: at least 600 words
- Work must be divided equally amongst participants
- Each participant must submit their prompt at the same time
Rewards:
- First completion bonus: 1 Helper Ticket per person
- 20 beans per person
- +5 beans per extra baobear (half if non-fullbody) per person
- +5 beans per additional 200 words above the minimum per person
PART TWO: LET'S SET SAIL!
It is difficult for baobears, even seabaos, to swim great distances without rest. Sometimes, a boat is needed! But not just any boat will do. You've heard the currents are swift, the waters are rocky and full of debris, and the fog makes it difficult to navigate. You'll need to be extra careful when choosing your craft! So, what does your baobear's boat look like?
Prompt: Choose one from the following.
A) Create a paper boat origami in real life and decorate it as your baobear would, ex. drawing, colouring, adding flowers, etc.
B) Draw or write about your baobear's boat. What does it look like? Does it have any special identifiers? Does it have a name, a history, a special flag?
- Origami: A photo of your origami paper boat and the baobear it represents
- A piece of paper with your username should be included in your photo
- Art: one boat with flat colours
- Writing: at least 200 words
Rewards:
- First completion bonus: 1 Helper Ticket per person
- 10 beans per completion
PART THREE: LAND, HO!
You make good time, dodging hazards with shocking ease, and manage to safely dock on a seemingly abandoned island. You can't wait to explore it! What awaits them behind the fog, that is so thick it's almost suffocating? What does your baobear expect to find, and what do they think of the island?
Prompt: Choose one from the following.
A) Draw or write about your baobear's "Dream Island"! If they had an island all to themselves, what would it look like? What would be on it? How would it be decorated?
B) Draw or write about your baobear's reaction to first setting foot on the island. What are they thinking, what do they see?
- Art: at least one full body with flat colours and background
- Writing: at least 400 words
Rewards:
- First completion bonus: 1 Helper Ticket per person
- 30 beans per completion
- +10 beans per extra baobear (half if non-fullbody)
- +10 beans per additional 200 words above the minimum
PART FOUR: THE SOLITARY SANDCASTLE
As you venture deeper into the island, you soon find yourself standing face to face with the mysterious ruins of what was once a mighty sandcastle. You can barely make out the walls in front of you, but you're determined to find a way in! What secrets does the castle hold? That's up to you to find out!
Prompt: Choose a tile and continue the sandcastle!
- Add your drawing to the image linked in the thread.
- Each tile MUST be 250x250 px. Please draw within the lines.
- The base must be 5 squares in width, but you are welcome to extend the top!
- Please make sure it is the LATEST comment. For example:
- A: Draws their tile, posts image link
- B: Downloads A's image, draws their tile on the new image, posts image link with tiles A and B
- C: Download's B's image, draws their tile on the new image, posts image link with tiles A, B, and C, and so on
- You may submit one tile per month (for a total of two tiles total).
- After you have done so, please post it in this comment thread for the next player to draw on.
Rewards:
- First completion: 1 Helper Ticket
- Second completion: 1 Random Treat
FINALE: THE REAL TREASURE...?
Just before you enter the castle, you notice a shift with the air around you. The fog begins to thicken and within it you see a shadow, moving within the thicket. Before you can react, something jumps out at you! What is this...?!
It seems the mysterious fog was actually caused by an over abundance of Paupaus! These whale-like creatures are volcanic in nature and spew thick clouds into the air when excited. They chirp loudly as you move towards them, but you're not sure if it's in a threatening or in an excited way. They push their large heads against you, waving their tiny fins in a really bothersome manner. Nearby, you spot a whole pile of what looks to be pepperie fruits, tall enough to measure at least five baobears! Well, it's no wonder they were so excited!
But what's this? Beneath that pile, you spot something odd... but with all the Paupaus in the way, you're not able to grab it! Perhaps there's a way to distract them?
Prompt: Draw or write about your baobear interacting with the Paupaus! Ex. distracting them with spicy food, a funky dance, chasing them away, etc.
- Art: one fullbody baobear with a Paupaus, with flat colours and a background
- Writing: at least 500 words
- Prerequisites: include links to a completed submission of part one, two, three, and four

TREASURE ISLAND: PUZZLE FINALE
You carefully approach the pile of pepperies, making sure to avoid the Paupaus as you do so. They seem wary, but do not move as you approach. That is, until a paw appears from the pile and takes hold of you. This is...
Bearlock?!
"Well don't just stand there!" He hisses, dragging himself out from the pile and causing the whole thing to topple over. "Let's get out of here!"
The Paupaus, seeing their pile of pepperies in such a state, begin to spew fog from their spouts. They begin to waddle up to you rather menacingly, which you both take as a clue to get out of there!
You quickly retreat into the sandcastle, breathing a sigh of relief as you escape the Paupaus sight.
"I'm glad you made it, assistant," Bearlock says a moment later (after having caught his breath). "I can only deduce that you found my treasure map."
Treasure map...? He doesn't mean... you take out your map and he makes a sound of acknowledgement.
"That's the one!" He grins. "I knew you'd find your way here to help!"
Heh, it wasn't that hard! But, it does make you pause: if Bearlock posted the map... did that mean there was no treasure?!
Seeing your despondent look, Bearlock lets out a loud guffaw. "Don't look so sad, assistant! I assure you, that's not the end of our tale!" He says. "You see, beneath the Paupaus' Pile of Pepperies was a key, but the location of the treasure is still very much a mystery to me as it is to you. As it were, just as I was about to abscond with the key, those dastardly Paupaus caught me and held me captive: until you came along!" He folds his arm. "Of course, now that you're here, you'll help me see the end of this puzzle... won't you?"
As one adventure ends, another begins. You give him a determined nod and he responds in kind.
"I knew I could count on you, assistant. Well then, I suppose the case is apaw!"
