There were so many sugar gems tucked into the petals of the roses yesterday. We managed to fill a big basket full of sugar gems for our macaroons. Today we put them in a big jar, for safe keeping.

I was considering what would be next on our list, and finally decided we must aquire some quality almond flour... next stop will be a trip to the local bakery!

The owners of the local bakery, Min and Pan, had so much delicious food on display. My mouth was watering at the sight of the freshly baked croissants. We were able to get ourselves some almond flour in exchange for sugar gems. Mission success!

Roo is surely enjoying eating all the sugar gem concoctions. After the bread filled with sugar gems that Pan and Min gave us, I sure hope I can make one as delirious as the bread we ate. Lets see what else do we need for our sugar gem macaroon?

Today me and my brother went to the farmers market to buy fresh eggs! While we were there, we found a fisherman bao. He told us about his travels, including his Sugar Gem sightings! He offered to take us to find some, with his boat. We’ll meet up with him tomorrow.
