Baobears are a species of small, palm-sized dumpling bears by miyabau. You can learn about their lore here. Baobears are closed species, which means you need permission to create one and have them be "official"! Permission is granted by using a MYO (make your own) slot. You can find out more below.
The baobear ARPG, or art role playing game, is an optional activity for the group. Players can receive in-game items and rewards for completing prompts and other activities. These can be used to change your baobears appearance, obtain MYO slots, and much more!
Even if you do not have a baobear, you can still participate in the ARPG and most activities.

[0] ★ Starting out
Â
If you are new to the site, the first thing you should do after registering an account is to verify your e-mail address. Afterwards, you need to link either a deviantart or toyhou.se account. These are both required to access certain parts of the site. Making a deviantart account is free, but toyhou.se requires a beta code. If you join our discord, you may request one from a moderator.
We reccommend clicking around to explore parts of the site & to get a hang of where things are!
Everyone's playstyle differs, so play around and choose what's most fun for you.

[1] ★ Terms & Links
To your left, you can find links to different places on this site.Â
To begin with, if you want to know more about baobears, read our lore guide!
Below is a list of all some important terminology specific to the baobears ARPG.
baoberry: our term for myo (make your own) slots
fortune: essentially your baobear's EXP (not active)
evolutions: temporary alternate forms baobears can take, ex. human forms
There are several currencies used in the ARPG, which you can read about below.
Beans, that is, bear coins, are the main in-game currency.
They come in varying colours, but all function the same. You can trade beans for goods and services, and items in the shops!
Beans can be earned by participating in Events or Prompts.
Dumplings are daily drops that you can collect if you own a baobear! You can collect them by visiting your baobear's profile and navigating to the "Collect Dumplings" tab under character, or by using the link below.
https://baobears.com/character/XXX-000/drops
Replace "XXX-000" with your baobears code, ex. NPC-001.Â
Dumplings can be used at Bao's Dumpling House which will have a rotating seasonal stock!
You can get a discount at this shop by completing Chapter 1: Side Story (Bao's Favour) in the Bon Baoyage Questline.
TIP: You can collect a free bean at Rosebeary's Bistro and a free dumpling at Bao's Dumpling House once per day.

[2] ★ How do i get a baobear?
There are several ways to obtain a baobear, or a baobear MYO slot (i.e. a baoberry), listed below:
- Purchase a baobear or MYO slot using real life cash (RLC) or in-game currency.
- Keep an eye on the news to see if there are any scheduled sales.
- When available, a limited amount of MYO slots can be purchased at Rosebeary's Bistro or during events.Â
- Receive a baobear or MYO slot through raffles, giveaways, etc.Â
- You may check if there are any on-going raffles here.
- Trade/purchase/be gifted a baobear or slot from another user.
We reccommend you register an account or join our discord to be kept up-to-date!
Please do not create your own baobear unless you have a MYO slot.
[3] ★ How do I participate?
The main activity in baobears is the completion of prompts (also known as 'quests'). You can find these in the Events or Prompts page of the site! Beans, pets, items, and other rewards can be earned by participating in these prompts. Events and general prompts can be completed by anyone, with or without a baobear. However, please be aware that there are some rules to keep in mind when completing any prompts.
Please read our SUBMISSION GUIDE for more information!
[4] ★ Have fun!
There is no right or wrong way to play baobears!
Please go at your own pace. Take your time or grind, it's all up to you!
In the end, what matters is that you're having fun : )
