Ice Skating

Bonnie’s walk was chipper today - she was practically skipping along as she took the same winter path forward!

Just yesterday, she’d visited the frozen lake in hopes that not only would it look super pretty, but also that she’d be able to skate on it - and after carefully inspecting the ice, it was definitely strong enough for skating! Now that she was certain she could go and have her fun, she was heading over to go do so!

Admittedly, she was a little worried that her ice skates were a bit too old for use - she’d sharpened them up a little before she left, but they were very old, because they were a hand me down from a friend of hers. She at least hoped they’d be good enough to lazily skate on - even if they weren’t fancy or fast enough to do any cool tricks on.

Oh— she’d made it to the lake! All of her thoughts made the walk seem much quicker than it usually felt. Maybe she should daydream while on walks more often… it was almost as good as walking with a friend!

Once she’d gotten to the lake, she sat down and started to put on her skates. They were a little big for her, so she had to lace them up tight to make sure they didn’t go flying off her feet - that wouldn’t be good! She tied them up carefully, tugging at them a little once they were on to make sure that they were secure.

Once she was sure that they wouldn’t be a problem, she got up - a little wobbly. She hadn’t skated much before, aside from learning the basics. She hoped to figure out some tricks sometime, but today probably wasn’t the best time for it… she’d probably need someone else to help teach her.

No, today, she was just going to just enjoy getting out and skating in the cool weather. She started off by trying to skate out to the center of the lake - maybe a few circles!

She began to lazily skate around - her skates left very pretty marks down on the ice below her… she wondered if she’d be able to do a figure eight someday. It would also be so nice to learn how to draw actual pictures in the ice… maybe someday she could learn?

For now, though, she took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and hummed as she kept skating over and over in the same pattern…
