A Worm Welcome (Poetry!)
When the birds come ‘round
And we hear that sound
Spring is here!
Greenery abound!
Winter is gone,
And with that thawed,
The plants wake up,
Their green clothes donned.
The grass is not the only friend
To wake up now at winter’s end,
The flowers have now begun to bloom,
Bringing an end to winter’s gloom!
Even colder climates have it too,
Striking away feelings that are blue,
For even if slow, spring will show,
Just as sure as the wind will blow.
For now, after the snow’s melted down,
Let’s take a walk! Go into town!
The dirt in the ground promises, spring will come!
So let’s celebrate, everyone!
Maybe we should do a dance,
Summon up some rain, while we prance!
We all know the friends underground,
We need to welcome them before they’ll be found!
Let’s all be kind to our small friends,
With them, we’ll make sure the fun will never end!
Let’s teach each other to spread love,
These worms are friends, don’t give them a shove!
Let’s all play with these new bugs,
Hold them up, give them gentle hugs!
Because we all know they help our soil,
Make sure we don’t have to sweat and toil,
They make sure our dirt’s all grand,
So let’s celebrate them, give them a hand!
Let’s give these worms a standing ovation!
(Since we can’t even give them a regular vacation.)
(Or at least, one with a good duration.)
So without adieu, let’s all beckon;
And give them all a worm wel-con’!
We don't really have much greenery where I am since I live in a very cold climate, but there's a little bit coming up!
