[GEN-001 : Gift] River Rock

The river that Opal found herself at was gentle and quiet. When she took a step in it, the water was cold yet refreshing, and she was enthralled by the invigorating experience. Bearlock Holmes had told her of a river with a weird type of rock beneath, and all it took was her hearing this once for her to go searching for it. She was excited and looked forward to searching for the rock. The only hint she got is that she would know it when she saw it, which made her even more excited. 

She waded through the water, worried at first about there being an uneven surface beneath her, but she soon realized that all the rocks at the bottom of this river were smooth and polished by years of sleeping beneath the current. She reached down and grabbed one, noticing something peculiar about it. When she moved it side to side, she saw a faint glisten in the sunlight. The clear rock seemed soft and smooth, almost like glass. It slipped out of her paw and fell back in the water, to which she gasped. 

The same rock shimmered a faint hint of rainbow underneath the water, which she had never seen before. She reached down once more, grabbing a bigger chunk of rock. It was the same clear, glassy rock out of the water, and the more dry it became, the less unique it looked, but this time she slowly put it back under the water, holding it just high enough for her to see. The sun shone down at the water and refracted light off the rock, showing Opal a shimmery rainbow rock that she absolutely adored. 

When she got back to New Bao City, she asked Bearlock about the rock she had seen, to which he simply replied, “I thought you’d like to meet your namesake.”
