[GEN-001 : Gift] Night is for Dreamers

1 Favorite ・ 0 Comments

A wishful sky twinkled above a snoozing Mimir. He lay in his bed, snuggled close to his pets, Snork and Mimimi. They dreamt of cozy clouds and twinkling stars. The night sky was for dreamers. A gust of wind pushed open Mimir’s window, making him awaken. He hopped out of bed, hoping to quickly close it before going back to sleep. Snork and Mimimi seemed unfazed by the chilly winter air intruding on their room. As soon as Mimir closed the window, he turned around and took two steps before another gust of air pushed it back open.

That seemed odd, thought Mimir. He turned back around and repeated the process, and again, the wind repeated its own. Mimir thought to look out into the night and see what the issue was. When he did, he saw nothing but the glimmering stars in the sky and the shy moon hiding behind clouds. This was a dreamer’s time, and for some reason, the wind did not want Mimir to have it.

He then decided to switch the latch on the window, which he rarely did. He drew the curtains, removing the moonlight from his view. Mimir got back in bed and got snuggly once more, with Snork snoring on one side and Mimimi on the other. This was better, Mimir thought. He pulled the covers up and closed his eyes, welcoming the feeling of rest as it set upon him.

He would dream of the shy moon this time, hiding behind the cozy clouds that hugged the night sky. The twinkling stars were rather dancing, and the night was their stage. All the while, the world slept on.
