Soup 2
Bearlock Holmes was bound and determined to return the favor Bao did for him by giving him that delicious chunky stew. How ever could he return such a divine favor? Why, by making his own creamy stew and inviting Bao to join him! Creamy stew is just as good as chunky stew, in fact some may say it’s even better, Bearlock thought. Although, he had the issue of Bao showing up extremely early. “The soup isn’t done for another half hour, Bao, you’re way too early.”
That wasn’t a problem to Bao, that was just more time to spend with his good friend Bearlock Holmes. Bao decided to set the table while Bearlock tended to the soup, making sure not to get any drool on any of the tableware. The stew smelled delicious, Bao thought. Bearlock was quite the cook when he wanted to be, but there is no comparison between friends and their soup. As long as it is shared with one another, they are both perfect.
Bao had just finished setting the table when he heard a loud clatter in the kitchen. He hurried in to see what the fuss was when he found Bearlock sitting on the floor, rubbing his head. Beside him, lay the pot’s hat. “I seemed to have slipped on the condensation. I wasn’t paying attention when I opened the soup to stir it and it drizzled all over the floor.”
Bao lended him a paw and Bearlock gladly took it, grabbing the pot’s hat on his way up. “Well, as long as the soup is still okay, I guess I am too.”
Bao laughed at that, thinking Bearlock was quite silly. “Thanks for inviting me.” He said softly.
“Think nothing of it, I’m simply returning the favor. The soup is done, let’s grab out bowls.”
The two baobears grabbed their soup bowls and served themselves, heading back to the table. Once again, the sound of comfortable silence (mixed with some slurping and sighs) filled the air. The science of ha-sha-sha-sha-ing your soup until it was cool enough to eat normally was more than mastered with the chunky stew, and they were both experts by the time they came face to face with Bearlock’s creamy stew. While the sky grew cool and dark, the tummies of these two baos grew warm and full with a delicious meal shared between friends.
Bearlock didn’t fall asleep after eating his stew this time, being the host it was his job to clean up the table. However, Bao decided to help by gathering all the dishes and putting them in the sink. When Bearlock began washing, Bao started drying each dish he washed. They were a good team, they both thought. When the dishes were clean, Bearlock put the soup away, making sure to pack up a container of soup for Bao to take home. It was nice to give things to friends.
Bao thanked his good friend, Bearlock Holmes. In turn, his friend nodded and simply said, “Until next time?”
