Cozy Picnic Wishes

Mimir woke up from his afternoon nap ready to sleep some more. Before he could drift off again, he heard a knock on his door. He let out a big yawn and stretched a bit before standing up to answer the door. 

He knew who it was before even opening the door, the delicious smell of freshly baked bread told Mimir that the one at his door was none other than Butter, his best friend. He opened the door and let his friend in, greeting him with a warm hug. 

“Hey Mimir! How are you doing? Were you taking a nap? Of course you were. Did you have lunch today? I brought a delicious focaccia so that we could share it. Trust me, it’s great, I ate a piece.” Butter sometimes had the habit of talking too much, which complemented Mimir perfectly, he was a bao of few words.

In response, Mimir let him in with a smile and gestured towards the dining table.

“Oh no, we’re not gonna eat here! Let’s go to the park, lay a towel on the ground in front of the lake and sit down to share the bread. I even brought crosswords we can solve, and the latest edition of my favorite baking magazine! You can even take a pillow and a blanket and snooze a bit”

“Like a cozy picnic?” Mimir said.

“Exactly!” 

The blue baobear nodded and, before leaving, he picked up some fresh fruits and orange juice to complement their meal.

Once they arrived at the park, they picked up a cozy spot in which they could see the lake and a well. Mimir and Butter sat down on a towel and began to eat.

“Delicious!” Said Mimir, after taking the first bite of the focaccia. His friend was a really good baker, he had come a long way. 

The two friends sat together that afternoon enjoying their meal, solving crosswords and looking at different types of baked goods Butter would like to learn how to make. 

When the sun was setting and it was almost time to go home, Butter looked at Mimir, holding two beans on his paw. “Let’s make a wish.”

“A wish?”

“Yes! On the wishing well!” Butter pointed towards the well, standing up and gathering their things. Mimir nodded reluctantly, for he didn’t know what to wish for. 

Once they approached the wishing well, Butter immediately tossed a bean into it. Mimir, however, took a while to figure out his wish. 

He looked at Butter, who was staring at him encouragingly, not trying to rush his friend's wish. He was always excited to be with him, and ever so patient when it came to his sleeping schedule. Mimir thought that all he wanted was for his friend to be able to achieve his dreams, because he deserved it. 

Mimir threw the bean as he thought of his wish. I wish that Butter becomes a successful baker one day, with his own shop, regular clients, all types of baked goods, just like he dreams of.
