Payback for Dining

Well BaoSmith kind of expected this after Frankie warned him but it's on him for not remembering his coin purse which is stuffed with beans from saving every little legume for emergencies but its fine he'll just work it off as they said they'll work Bao's share of the work too so he can go back and do very important baobear things like stacking papers and stamping blank sheets, yes very important! Rosebeary huffed a fine at them but told them they can't quit in the middle if it gets to tough for them, He assured them that they wouldn't do that at all while asking when he can start working which was right away.

He's going to be busy cooking up orders but it's a hassle going back and forth so he's taking the orders today, someone's already doing dishes (possibly also paying off a debt) they nodded and took the little notepad and pencil they got for them "Ok! I'll get started right away!" they looked at Bao who gave them a thumbs up "Well...good luck, i gotta get going!" they nodded and waved them off but soon as he was gone some customers came. Uh oh! Better get the menu's ready as they greeted the customers, handing off menus, and asking what they'd like to drink, oh boy they were rattling off a complicated drink order.

"Ok you want a coffee but make it decaf, sweet but no sugar, along with some whip cream and pumpkin spice syrup?" ok no problem they'll figure it out at the drink station as they looked at the other "and a water for you?" gosh that was so much easier but at least they're writing everything they need down as they go off to get their drinks or he would but another set of customers came in "I'll be with you in just a moment!" He hurried to get the coffee order while trying to figure out sweetness without sugar, did...did they want honey in their drink? He almost poured it in but then spotted the artificial sweetener, oh! that's what they meant as they fixed it up quick "Need more time to order? No problem!" he left them to get the others their menus.

BaoSmith felt like his head was spinning from who often he had to rush to get drinks while taking down orders, how does Rosebeary do this for a living? He could never rush around like this! He preferred to take things slow and watch things play out but he guesses it just comes with practice and time getting used to this fast paced industry, he didn't manage to mess up any order taking so he is chalking that up to a win as they spent the entire day working with the chef.

It was just a small dent in the debt but they looked up at Rosebeary from his spot to see how they were doing "You did pretty well, think you can do it all again tomorrow?" they asked him which they answered honestly "No but i have beans i can pay you with if that works just the same, how much do i owe after working all day?" Ha! what a cheeky bear but Rosebeary didn't mind that as he went to calculate the total cost after working for the day "Hmm...One moment" Ok they got the total ready for them and handed them a slip of paper with the remaining debt on it "Yeah i can pay this off, thank you for letting me pay the rest in beans"

With that said they got up and stretched "You're amazing for being able to do this Mr Rosebeary" They tried not to show they were shy about the compliment but it still showed on those baoy cheeks "Just don't forget your wallet next time especially with Bao in your company" they nodded and left with a pep in their step, he can't wait home to see his favorite baobear, his neighbor and best friend possible brother, Frankie.
