Seabao Ducky Time!!!

It was a stormy night. Ducky was preparing the deck for the storm, trying to get their boat safely to shore. They noticed a familiar boat nearby. It was Cerulean’s boat! Ducky knew that although they had a big crew of friends, Ceruru did not. Worried about their bestie, Ducky pointed over, “Friends! Set sail for Ceruru’s boat!” They knew how bad this storm was about to get, so they wanted to help.

They got super close to the boat, hopping from one boat to the other with ease. After all, Ducky’s life was nothing but the sea! Cerulean was struggling, trying to prepare her boat. She didn’t even notice the other bear for a long moment, nearly sniffling from worry, “Common, Common,” She urged herself, trying to tie a proper knot.

“Need help?” Ducky asked.

As prideful as ever, Cerulean jumped, “W-what are you doing here!? I’m fine, you dummy! Shoo!” She flinched, grabbing the ropes that slipped from her. She was afraid, yes, but didn’t want to admit it.

“But if you don’t hurry, the storm will hit your boat… Let me help, Ceruru.” Ducky looked concerned, worried.

“I’m fine!” She replied, “I just need to tie this…” She started again, trying to tie the rope. It was then a big gust of wind started up, pushing them both.

Cerulean struggled a bit, while Ducky moved behind some crates to protect themselves, “Common, Ceruru, come onto my boat!” They urged.

“NO! I’m fine!” The blue bear grumbled. It was then that a huge gust of air hit again, moving a smaller barrel that collided with Cerulean, throwing her off the boat and into the cold sea.

Ducky yelled, “Cerulean!!” They didn’t know what to do. They knew the sea was too wild for Cerulean to swim properly. They was worried about what would happen, but they couldn’t let their best friend drown! Without another hesitation, Ducky jumped into the water. It was a struggle, as the winds made it hard to swim. But they persisted. There was no way they would give up on their best friend!

The water was rough, and things were dark. Ducky could barely see, gasping for air as they swam around looking for Cerulean.

Please, dear sea, let me help my friend…

They dived down to search for their friend. Something else caught their eye first. A little glow. As they got closer, they felt a sort of warmth. The light wrapped around them, as their little paw felt a small charm, in shape of a seashell. The light grew, different specks of colors swirling around Ducky. When the light dimmed, they felt different. No longer did they have to hold their breath. Their movements felt lighter and they moved through the water easier. It was then they saw the unconscious Cerulean, sinking down. Ducky didn’t hesitate, swimming quickly to her. They held her close as they returned to the surface. Luckily, by now they were close to shore. They brought her onto the sand, and checked to make sure she was alright.

Coughing up water moments later, Cerulean opened her eyes, “H..huh?” She looked confused. Surely, she was a goner, she thought. But the feeling of rain tapping onto her brought her back to reality. She was in awe, turning to see Ducky. She was the first to notice the form Ducky had taken. The tail and fins. She said, “What happened to you?!”

Ducky noticed finally, eyes sparkling, “I’ve…become a seabao!!! How cool!!! I knew the sea loved me! It helped me save you!” They chirped, happily flipping around. While they laughed, they shifted back to their regular form. They stretched their little legs, just purely amazed by the situation.

“You’re…ridiculous. You could’ve died too, you big dummy!!!” Cerulean huffed, lightly smacking their shoulder with her paws. She didn’t want to be the reason they both died… Starting to sob, she mumbled a soft, “...But thank you…”

Ducky gave a big smile, “It’s okay, Ceruru. We’re friends. I’d do anything for you!”

Blushing a deep shade of indigo, Cerulean said, “Still… you’re so stupid. Dumb. Dumb dumb bear.” She whimpered and whined, not wanting to admit she felt happy to be so loved.
