Gift of the Glade

Grizzly Glade. A wonderful stretch of plains, unassuming on their own, but they become blindingly vibrant during the blooming season. Besides the lovely (and delicious) cloud covers that cover the fields, there are critters running and flying about. And those critters are exactly why Baogonia is there in the fields right now.

While tending to her shop, she overheard some customers mention that the Flutterbuns were out. This caught her attention, so on her day off from working at the shop, she decided to visit the Grizzly Glade to try and befriend one.

The Flutterbun is skittish, so Baogonia would have to be very careful when dealing with them. Which is why she brought along a basket full of flowers (fresh, of course!) on her excursion. She would befriend a Flutterbun no matter what today.

…But to befriend one, she would first have to find one. The Grizzly Glade, while beautiful in bloom, made it difficult to find the Flutterbun’s due to them blending in with the purple fields. But that wouldn’t stop Baogonia, as she found out from others who found them where to search. So off she went in a specific direction, taking careful and light steps as to not startle or disrupt anything while on her search. Wouldn’t want to spook off the creatures before even getting close to one!

And then finally, after a bit of searching high and low, Baogonia found one. It was carefully grazing on some of the flowers, not fully aware of its surroundings. So Baogonia let out a soft whistle to get its attention, to which the Flutterbun seemed to jump (slightly floating higher up than before) and whipped around to see the intruder.

Since Baogonia wasn’t all that threatening and had a warm smile on her face, the little guy seemed to calm down and cautiously looked at the basket she was carrying. Noticing this, she opened it up and took out some of the flowers, offering them up to the critter.

Slowly, the Flutterbun flew over to Baogonia, sniffed the flowers, and began to nibble on the flowers. Sensing they were fresh from the taste, and now knowing that Baogonia wouldn’t do anything to it, the Flutterbun began to eat in more earnest. And once it finished, it made a happy noise and spun around Baogonia, causing the Baobear to smile widely.

She had done it. She had met and befriended the notoriously skittish Flutterbun. And now, she could go home with her new friend, as she had the perfect home for it at her flower shop.
