A trick to save treats!

Frankie was at the pumpkin patch in need of many pumpkins for his idea, he's going to have so many lanterns and snacks once he buys them. He had a little red wagon just so he can carry more than one with him, He followed the directions to Cabbaoge's Pumpkin Patch and was greeted with the sight of said bao grumpily setting up what looked like a net but they were having trouble trying to set it up "Do you need some help?" Cabbaoge looked up from their net working and nodded, with Frankie's help they managed to get it up and was positioned over the pumpkin patch.

"So what's with the net?" they asked him "Oh well there has been some trouble a brewin' around here!" they said looking at the other properly, They were a giant loaf of bread or dressed as one at least "What kind of trouble?" they patted their lil paw on his chin as they answered him saying there was laughter heard mysteriously and treats stolen away but worst of all a ghost! or a supposed ghost, Frankie jumped and trembled at the sound of that "Ghost? wow that's so cool you got a ghost in your pumpkin patch!" well it would be neat if the darn thing would stop stealing and scaring their customers.

Frankie hopped up and down as they asked if they could help them catch it "nothing screams spooky more than catching a ghost! all I want in return is a pumpkin or two" that did sound like a small price to pay to catch the little ghost or whatever it was so with a pawshake they were now working together to catch this mysterious apparition! First things first maybe a change of costume for the other? "But a ghost will expect a scarecrow or a ghost or a witch, nobody is expecting bread!" Can't argue with that logic as they accepted the silly costume.

Now what was their plan? well a trick of course! they're going to trick the apparition to go under the net with a fake treat and then aha! they will have caught them! yes yes it's all very brilliant as Frankie went to the store very quick to find what he needed for the fake treat which will trick the ghost and trigger the net! it'll be dark and the net is dark too so they won't be able to see it in the trees where Cabbaoge hid it, Frankie got a bowl, a few fake spiders, and some string to rig the rest of the trap and hurried back to the pumpkin patch.

It took a bit to will away the hours but once it got dark both got into position, Cabbaoge was hidden in a bush with the string connected to the net trap, Frankie was by the treat bowl full of fake spiders with the word "Treats!" on it so the ghost will pick them up and get scared. Now they waited for the apparition; waiting was the hardest part even after night fell because there was no guarantee that the spirit will show up when Frankie had an idea "I'll summon it with scary words" they whispered to Cabbaoge, well might as well try it they had all night after all.

Frankie took a deep breath and began to chant "Spooky Scary~ Spooooooky scaaaaaary!!" whats this? something faintly glowing started to appear! it was the ghost as Frankie quickly hid in his loaf costume so they can see the bowl of "Treats" for it. The little ghost stared at the bread loaf curious but then the bowl labelled treat was more interesting as they reached in and aaaa spiders! spiders!! oh noo spiders!! whoosh! the net fell and Cabbaoge caught them! or they would have if the ghost didn't phase through it but the trick with the spiders did enough and the ghost was scared away, hooray! they did it! they celebrated with the real treats they had on them.

Cabbaoge was so thankful to have scared the spirit they offered a total of three whole pumpkins to Frankie making him beam with joy "I'll come back tomorrow to buy more so thank you!" they took their little wagon of pumpkins away and Cabbaoge was spirit free, what a night for all involved.
