Helping A New Friend
It's the spookiest of months! October! Opal was excited to get candy, to get dressed up, and to get spooooky!! Wow what a great time to be themselves! Now for the first order of business! getting a costume ready but there are so many options they weren't sure what they were going to be, something scary or something sweet? maybe something cool or something neat? all these options made their head spin! Oh no they were feeling dizzy now from all that thinking and various outfits they could try on, they felt weak and started to sway when they fell back on some soft surface.
Wait
Soft? Why is there something so so soft outside? Opal looked at the object they fell on and it was a big brown fluffy looking thing, it looked bouncy like a mushroom but it wasn't a mushroom at all, what the heck! this is so interesting they had to look it over properly! Opal looked around it when a face with a pair of big ol' eyes stared up at them, oh! it was a bao? was it a bao? but the shape was nothing like one. "Hi, I'm Frankie and I'm trying out my costume, did i get in your way?" He said to them making them cover their mouth with both lil doughy paws and stiffle a giggle "No, you actually saved me from falling on the ground" they stared at the other some more wondering of wonders what they were dressed up as.
"I see you're admiring my amazing costume, well why not see it in motion?" Frankie got up and now face to face they could see what he really was, A giant loaf of bread! This made opal giggle in delight, they never seen such a costume like this before so they chalked this up as a good memory so far. "It's a really tasty looking costume, is it real bread?" they asked curiously with a tilt of their adorable doughy head "No i tried with real bread but a bunch of birds ate my entire costume and i was chased by geese too!" Opal giggled again, goodness what an interesting bao! they'd love to make friends with them if possible!
Frankie sat back down and remained stationary as they offered them a snack, apparently the entire inner bread is hollow but full of snacks and juice pouches, they gladly took some goodies from him and sat by him "So why did you fall over? did you trip on a rock? that's why i was sitting for a long time" hee hee! silly bao! but no that's not why as Opal explained they were thinking about costumes but weren't sure about what to wear, what a terrible thing to happen to such a cute little bao! Frankie hummed in thought with his eyes closed thinking, with a sudden aha! and an opening of the eyes they said they had a spare they can try on.
Opal gasped! What's better than not thinking? someone doing it for you!! they were grateful but unsure "at least try it on and see what you think" well, since they offered for free and curious about what the costume could be, they got up with him and followed him to his house which was decorated cutely but spookily! There were two frogberts in the home dressed up and just chilling on their couch watching tv with a bowl of food for them. Opal looked around admiring the home when Frankie found the costume "Behold!! a truly terrifying costume!"
Dun dun!! Held up for the world to see which was an amazing feat since he still had his arms in the costume but wow! that's certainly a costume alright so Opal decided to try it on to humor him and hey if they liked it enough, no need to worry about an outfit anymore as they used their bathroom to change and in one, two, three!! Opal as a sunny side up egg!! it was very three dimensional so they had room inside the costume to hide their candy and their ears matched perfectly for the whole thing being as you can't have sunny side up without a little sun!
Frankie cheered at them revealing themselves, Both were having a fun time in their silly get ups "Hey if you're not too busy would you like to help me practice eating all this candy? i'm trying to get good at it for halloweenie" practice eating candy? how does one do that? well from what they said it was just eating a bunch of treats in costume which they were more than happy to oblige the other. Opal sat in the kitchen with the odd lil bao and truly felt the spirit of the spooky month in this kitchen.
Cute little Opal needs help! too many ideas for a costume but what's this? a new bao friend ready to help? lets go!!
